We sit 'round this fire spinning scary ghost yarns
forget that our past loves have done us much harm
but the flame sparks a memory somewhere inside

The fact I'm alive is my one fatal flaw.*

The truth is that nothing's as bad as it seems
and no one is ever as good as they mean
but they'll take all the credit and smile like they care
as much as they wish that they really would dare
O' how horribly true and unfair.

But I think you have figured this all out by now.
the question II'm asking is not why but how?
How'd I go into life so innocent
and come out the other end stinkin' like shit?
